CIMSPA is the lead organisation for the UK’s sport and physical activity workforce. For CIMSPA to be able to support everyone working in sport and physical activity, it is vital that the sector’s workforce is clearly defined and properly understood from lifeguards to personal trainers to senior leaders of large organisations.
By working with the sector, we continue to develop a more accurate understanding of who we are, where we work and how we keep the nation active. By doing this, we can continue to drive greater investment into the sector, better connect to other sectors and, most importantly, drive greater levels of participation.

Having a clearly defined, agreed and adopted view of the sport and physical activity workforce is critical in moving the sector forwards.
By connecting our viewpoint to the government labour index, we can showcase our sector, influence decision making more effectively and understand and respond to trends, gaps and opportunities in a meaningful way.
